JUDGMENT
The petitioner seeks that respondents 1 and
2 be directed to amend his caste name from
'Hindu-Panicker' to 'Hindu-Kalaripanicker' in
the SSLC Book, in terms of Exts.P2 and P3
information made available by the 3rd respondent
- Headmistress of the School, where he studied.
2. The afore request of the petitioner, as
made by his learned counsel - Sri.Vishnu
Bhuvanendran, was opposed by Sri.Sunil Kumar
Kuriakose - learned Government Pleader, saying
that official respondents cannot act upon
Exts.P2 and P3 alone and that it will have to be
supported by a duly attested photocopy of the
original Register, to be made available from the
School.
3. On hearing Sri.Sunil Kumar Kuriakose as
afore, Sri.Vishnu Bhuvanendran submitted that
his client is willing to produce the aforesaid

documents before the competent Authority.
In the afore circumstances, I order this
writ petition in the following manner:
(a) I leave liberty to the petitioner to
apply for and obtain a certified photocopy of
the original Register maintained by the School
in question and produce the same before the 2 nd
respondent, along with Exts.P2 and P3.
(b) On the afore being so produced, 2 nd
respondent will take up the application of the
petitioner for correction and issue appropriate
orders thereon, after affording him an
opportunity of being heard, as expeditiously as
is possible, but not later than one month
therefrom.
(c) I, however, make it clear that the afore
directions are subject to the petitioner
complying with every other imperative and
statutory requirement in law; and leave it fully

to the 2nd respondent to verify this as per law.
