Con.Case (C) No.719 of 2023
-------------------------------------------------
Dated this the 27th day of June, 2023
O R D E R
A.Muhamed Mustaque, J.
It is pointed out by the learned counsel for the petitioner that
in spite of the direction of this Court, as early as on 31.03.2022, no
steps have been taken by the Lakshadweep Administration to engage
veterinary doctors to attend health care of animals, birds etc. in
Lakshadweep.
Learned Standing Counsel submitted that steps are being taken.
It is to be noted that as early as on 30.03.2023, this Court
passed an order in the matter for making interim arrangements for
veterinary surgeons to be made available. In spite of that direction
also, the Lakshadweep Administration is not able to come forward with
suggestions. In that view of the matter, if no action is taken to
appoint either veterinary doctors as directed in the impugned judgment
related to contempt, within three weeks from today, either by contract
or permanent, the 1st respondent shall appear in person before this
Court.
Post the matter on 18.07.2023.
