Ms. Rishi Bharti, the learned counsel for the petitioners has referred to the judgment in "Padmja Sharma v. Ratan Lal Sharma" 2000 (2) Supreme 653 to lay support to her submission regarding enhancement in the maintenance amount.

Ms. Kumari Sugandha, the learned Amicus relies on the judgments in "Vijaya Manohar Arbat Dr. (Mrs.) v. Kashirao Rajaram Sawai & Anr." (1987) 2 SCC 278 and "Smt. Kuni Dei @ Kuni Behadi v. Pabitra Mohan Behadi & Anr." 2013 SCC OnLine Ori 219.
