CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE PUNEET GUPTA, JUDGE

                                        ORDER

03.03.2021 The interim order dated 09.11.2012, contempt proceedings with respect whereof are sought to be initiated, has been passed in OWP No 1185/2012 titled Ruchi Jain and Ors. v. University of Kashmir and Ors., but due to typographical error OWP No. 1109/2012 has been shown in the said order. The cause title of OWP No. 1109/2012 is Ghulam Mohammad Shah v. State and Ors., whereas cause title of OWP No. 1185/2012 is Ruchi Jain and Ors. v. State of J&K and Ors., OWP No. 1185/2012 has been disposed of vide order dated 11.10.2018, making interim orders absolute. Perusal of interim order dated 09.11.2012 reveals that respondents had been directed to take steps for permitting applicants to take B. Ed examination which was scheduled to commence from 17th November 2012. The period for undergoing the B. Ed course about which direction in terms of interim order dated 09.11.2012 was passed, might have been completed by now. In such circumstances, keeping contempt petition pending would serve no purpose.

In the above backdrop, contempt petition is closed. However, petitioners shall be free to approach the incumbent/s in office with a copy of the order/judgment, with respect whereof instant petition has been filed, for its implementation, unless already complied with. It is made clear here that in the event petitioners feel unsatisfied qua implementation of the directions of this Court, petitioners shall be free to file appropriate proceedings for compliance thereof in accordance with law.

Contempt petition is, accordingly, closed.

(PUNEET GUPTA) JUDGE SRINAGAR 03.03.2021 "Manzoor"
