28.11.2025 (M. Zothankhuma, J)

This is a jail appeal against the impugned judgment dated 15.07.2025 passed by the learned Sessions Judge, Sivasagar, in Sessions Case No.41(S- S)/2024, by which the appellant has been convicted under Section 307 IPC and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 10 years and to pay a fine of Page No.# 2/2

Rs.5,000/-, in default to undergo simple imprisonment for 6 months. The appellant has also been convicted under Section 326 IPC and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 8 years and to pay a fine of Rs.5,000/-, in default to undergo simple imprisonment for 6 months. The sentences are to run concurrently.

On considering the fact that the sentences imposed upon the appellant is for 10 years, it appears that the matter is to be taken up by a Single Judge.

Accordingly, Registry to verify and list the same before the appropriate Bench.
