This is an appeal preferred from Jail against the judgment dated 26.07.2024 passed by the Addl. Sessions Judge cum Special Judge (POCSO), Sivsagar in Special (POCSO) Case 57 of 2023, offences charged with Section 376(3) IPC R/w Section 6 of POCSO Act, sentence imposed R.I. for a period of Page No.# 2/2

20 years and also to pay a fine of Rs.10,000/- i/d to undergo further R.I. for a period of 6 months.

Since Ms. S. Jahan, learned Addl. Public Prosecutor, Assam has entered appearance and accepts notice on behalf of the State respondent No.1, issuance of formal notice to the said respondent is dispensed with.

Shri Navaneet Kumar Baruah, learned counsel, who is empanelled as an Amicus Curiae is appointed as the Amicus Curiae in this case.

Let steps for service of notice upon the informant / victim be taken by the Registry of this Court in the manner prescribed through the Office of the Public Prosecutor, Assam within 3 (three) working days from today.

List this matter after 6 (six) weeks along with a report on service as well as receipt of records.

Let the Registry furnish the copies of the concerned documents to the learned Addl. Public Prosecutor for doing the needful.

The name of the appointed Amicus Curiae be reflected in the cause list.
