Heard Mr. M. Sahewalla, learned counsel for the appellant. Also heard Mr. B.C. Das, learned counsel for the respondent.

The learned counsel for both sides have made similar submissions that Page No.# 2/2

after the judgment and decree passed in T.S. (M) No. 30/2016, the parties had negotiated a settlement between them, pursuant to which, the appellant has paid a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakh only) as part alimony.

In that view of the matter, the Court is of the considered opinion that the parties shall make an attempt to settle their dispute through mediation. Accordingly, both sides are directed to appear before the Mediation Centre of Gauhati High Court on 19.07.2022 at 11.00 AM.

Initial time of 15 (fifteen) days is granted to the learned Mediator. However, if it appears to him that some more time is required, he may send a note to the Mediation Centre for being produced before the Court.

Let a copy of this order be sent to the Gauhati High Court Mediation Centre to facilitate the mediation proceedings on the appointed date and time by appointing a Mediator from the panel.

As both sides are duly represented, issuance of formal notice to the parties is dispensed with. However, the learned counsel for both sides are permitted to transmit a downloaded copy of this order to the parties to bring the order to their notice so as to enable them to appear before the Mediation Centre on the appointed date.
