1. This criminal appeal under Section 374(2) of CrPC has been filed against the judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated 18.01.2024 passed by the Additional Sessions Judge (FTC), South Bastar, Dantewada (CG) in Special Sessions (POCSO) Case No. 49/2022 whereby the applicant has been convicted and sentenced as under :

          Conviction                                Sentence
     U/s 354 of IPC          RI for 03 years with fine of Rs.20,000/-, in

default of payment of fine amount,

additional RI for 1 year.

R.I. for 03 years with fine of Rs.20,000/-, U/s 8 of POCSO in default of payment of fine amount, Act additional R.I. for 1 Year.

R.I. for 03 years with fine of Rs.10,000/-, U/s 12 of POCSO in default of payment of fine amount, Act additional R.I. for 1 Year.

2. Learned counsel for appellant submits that the appeal has become infructuous as the appellant has been released from jail after completion of entire jail sentence.

3. Learned State counsel submits that as per the report dated 29.07.2025 received from the Central Jail, Jagdalpur in respect of appellant Sheikh Liyakat Ali, in Special Sessions (POCSO) Case No.49/2022, judgment dated 18.01.2024, on completion of jail sentence by getting the benefit remission period, the appellant has been released from jail on 22.04.2025.

4. Accordingly, the present criminal appeal stands dismissed as having become infructuous.
