1. Read order dated September 17, 2024. The State has

filed a status report. Let the same be kept with the

records.

2. We find that 10 out of 32 charge sheet named witnesses

have already been examined. Learned State Counsel

says that only 6 more prosecution witnesses will be

examined. The next date is September 30, 2024.

3. Since the trial is at an advanced stage and in view of the

huge quantity of contraband items having been

recovered from the petitioner, we are not inclined to

allow his prayer for bail.

4. The prayer for bail stands rejected.

5. CRM (NDPS) 1386 of 2024 is dismissed.

6. However, keeping in mind the prolonged detention of the

petitioner, we direct the learned Trial Court to expedite

the trial and conclude the same, by delivery of

judgment, at an early date and definitely by the end of

this year.

7. We make it clear that if the trial is not concluded within

the time period indicated herein, the petitioner will be at

liberty to renew his prayer for bail.

8. The parties shall communicate this order to the learned

Trial Court.

9. All parties shall act in terms of server copy of the order

downloaded from the official website of this Court.
