Heard Ms. Chandreyee Alam, learned amicus curiae appearing

for the appellant and Mr. Prasun Kr. Dutta, learned Additional Public

Prosecutor being assisted by Md. Kutubuddin, learned Counsel

appearing for the State.

Today, Mr. Kutubuddin, learned Counsel for the State has

produced the report submitted by Gopal Debnath, Officer-in-Charge,

Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Detective Department, Kolkata Police

to the effect that the sole appellant Sulekha Kar has expired on

07.08.2006 at Calcutta Medical College and Hospital while she was

suffering the sentence imposed by learned Additional Sessions

Judge, Fast Track Court-IX, Calcutta vide the impugned judgment

and order of sentence.

The report of the Superintendent of Presidency Correctional

Home is a part of the report submitted by aforesaid Gopal Debnath,

Officer-in-Charge.

The report produced by Mr. Kutubuddin, learned Counsel for

the State be taken on record.

In view of death of the sole appellant and nobody having come

forward to continue the appeal on behalf of the appellant, this appeal

abates.

The Trial Court record be sent down to the concerned learned

Trial Court along with a copy of this order and the report received

from the concerned Inspector keeping a xerox copy of the report in

the appeal file.
