The petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of a case

under Sections 21(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic

Substances Act pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge,

6th Court at Barasat being case No.N-231 of 2019.

It is submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that

the petitioner was arrested on 26 th November, 2019. On completion

of investigation, police submitted charge-sheet showing nine

witnesses to be examined by the prosecution. On 23 rd September,

2021, charge was framed against the petitioner. Subsequently, till

18th April, 2022 four witnesses were examined and five more

witnesses are remaining to be examined as on this date. The learned

Trial Judge has fixed 12 th and 13th April, 2023 for examination of the

remaining witnesses.

Having heard the learned Advocate for the petitioner and the

learned Public Prosecutor-in-Charge, Mrs. Manisha Sharma who has

been requested to assist this Court on behalf of the State.

This Court is of the view that the instant revision can be

disposed of here and now directing the Trial court to dispose of the

instant case within three months from the date of communication of

this order.

The appointment of Mrs. Manisha Sharma be regularized by the

learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

The instant revision is, accordingly disposed of.
