In the matter of: - Ranjit Manna @ Kai ...Appellant.

The appeal is directed against the judgment of conviction dated

March 25, 2013 and the order of sentence dated March 26, 2013.

Four accused persons were before the trial court.

Three accuseds, namely, Bikash Pramanik @ Subhash, Sanu @

Sachi Dolui and Ranjit Manna @ Knai were found guilty and

sentenced.

Suvankar Jana was acquitted.

The case was filed against Sk. Manirul @ Mani @ Anowar Khan.

Bikash Pramanik @ Subhash preferred an appeal from such

judgment and order being Criminal Appeal No.257 of 2015 which

was disposed of by judgment and order dated December 13, 2019.

Sanu @ Sachi Dolui and Ranjit Manna @ Knai sought to prefer

the appeal from jail.

The Court is informed that Ranjit Manna @ Knai expired on

April 20, 2022.

In such circumstances, department will treat the present appeal

to be abated so far as the Ranjit Manna @ Knai is concerned.

The present appeal be treated by the department as an appeal

by Sanu @ Sachi Dolui.

The paper book prepared in Criminal Appeal No.257 of 2015

being the appeal of Bikash Pramanik @ Subhash be treated as the CRA (DB) 19 of 2022

paper book for the appeal of Sanu @ Sachi Dolui.

Department will prepare a supplementary paper book

incorporating the statement recorded under Section 313 of the

Code of Criminal Procedure of Sanu @ Sachi Dolui therein.

List the appeal in the monthly list of November, 2022.
