The attention of this Court has been drawn to a judgment
reported at (2020) 10 SCC 763 to submit that for the offences
committed under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954, an
accused is entitled to the benefit of lesser punishment provided in
the Food and Safety Standards Act, 2006.
Mr. Souvik Mitter, learned advocate is requested to appear in
this case to assist the Court on this issue.
