P.C. :

1)               Learned        PP   submitted   that,   the     Home         Department,

Government of Maharashtra has issued a Government Resolution dated 7 th

November, 2023 and constituted a Secretary Level Officers' Committee. The

said committee will take into consideration all the aspects and facets

regarding the Jail Reforms in pursuance of Judgment and Order dated 1 st

March, 2017 passed in Public Interest Litigation No. 46 of 2015 and Orders

passed subsequent thereon. She tendered across the bar a photocopy of

Government Resolution dated 7th November, 2023 issued by the Home

Department, Government of Maharashtra.

2) It is needless to mention that, the said Secretary Level Officers'

Committee will take into consideration the grievances arising out of above

mentioned Petitions before us, the various reports submitted by the

Principal District Judges who are directed to take review of jail conditions

and the suggestions/recommendations given by the learned Advocates

appearing for respective Petitioners.

3) At the request of learned APP, stand over to 17th January, 2024.
