Heard learned counsel for the petitioners as well as learned Standing Counsel.

Petitioners, who are though currently working as Sub Inspector, claims benefit of one additional increment on completion of 19 years of service taking into account his initial training period.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the judgment of Ghanshyam Tiwari & Ors v. State of U.P. & Ors, Writ - A No. 44330 of 2012 and in the case of Dinesh Kumar Shukla & 14 Ors v. State of U.P. & 6 Ors, Writ - A No. 6429 of 2018 his claim is liable to be considered. He submits that intra court appeal has already been dismissed and law is not settled.

Learned Standing Counsel does not dispute the above legal position, in the event petitioner is demanding additional increment on the completion of 19 years of service as a Constable.

In view of the above, this petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Deputy Inspector General of Police/ respondent no. 3 to consider and decide the claim of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

Needless to add that the order to be passed by the competent authority, as directed herein above, shall be reasoned and speaking one.
