Present petition has been filed by the petitioners stating that the petitioners are entitled for interest on account of delayed payment of gratuity paid to the petitioners.

A similar issue was considered by this Court in Writ Petition No.29142 (SS) of 2021 whereby this Court vide order dated 13.12.2021 had directed the payment of interest at the rate of 6% per annum w.e.f. 30 days next after the date of retirement till the date of actual payment.

Thus, following the said judgment and on the same ground, the present petition is also allowed.

The petitioner shall be entitled for interest at the rate of 6% per annum w.e.f. 30 days next after the date of retirement till actual payment.

The amount of interest shall be quantified and shall be paid to the petitioners within a period of four months from today.
