It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the name of the petitioner in the Intermediate Examination Certificate-cum-Marks Sheet has been wrongly mentioned. The application filed by the petitioner for correction of the name is at page 32 of the paper book. It is submitted that in view of the judgment of this Court in Anand Singh Vs. U.P. Board of Secondary Education and others, (Special Appeal No. 160 of 2014, decided on 11th February, 2014), the respondents are obliged under law to consider the application for change of the name. Learned counsel for the petitioner has also drawn the attention of this Court to the admit card issued by the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, Allahabad where the name is correct.

Learned Standing Counsel states that the issue with regard to correction of the name of the petitioner in the Intermediate Examination Certificate-cum-Marks Sheet will be considered by the appropriate authority in accordance with law within a time bound manner.

Considering the submissions of learned counsel for the parties, it is hereby provided that the application for correction of name of the petitioner in the Intermediate Examination Certificate-cum-Marks Sheet shall be considered in accordance with law by the respondent no. 2 keeping in view the judgment of this Court in Anand Singh (supra). The decision in respect of correction of the name of the petitioner in the Intermediate Examination Certificate-cum-Marks Sheet shall be taken within a period of one month from the date of production of certified copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observation/direction, writ petition is disposed of.
