The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan, international non-governmental organisation working in the area of human rights. In 1987, several Commonwealth professional associations founded CHRI, since there was little focus on human rights within the association of 53 nations although the Commonwealth provided member countries with the basis of the shared common legal system.
The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative is looking for a Project Officer for a project on building awareness and momentum on issues of custodial violence and UNCAT.
The work involves strategising and convening various stakeholders and duty-holders around the issue, undertaking the necessary research and developing educational and publicity material.
The position will be for one year and will be based at CHRI’s headquarters in New Delhi. The candidate is expected to work independently.
