About the Organisation

Joy University School of Law (JU-SOL) under the able leadership of Dr. S. A. Joy Raja, Chancellor and guidance of Prof. Dr. Rajesh S, Vice Chancellor, aims to enable the students with excellent legal studies through the combination of exposure to the advanced syllabus, legal education programmes and faculty monitored participation in curricular and extra curricular activities.

Eligibility

Law Schools / Colleges / Institutes / Universities, recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the National Level Moot Court Competition. The participants should currently be pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree in Law, i.e. Three Year or Five Year Law Courses.

Team Composition

Each team shall comprise of two Mooter’s and may also have a Researcher.

Written Memorial Standards

The written memorials shall conform to the set standards.

• Written submissions shall be printed on one side of white standard A size paper with margins of one inch (2.5 cms) on all sides except the left side where margin shall be of 1.5 inch (3.75 cms).
• The font and size of the text used in all parts of the written submissions (except the covers) shall be in 12 point Times New Roman and footnotes shall be in 10point Times New Roman.
• The text in all parts of each written submission shall have . 1.5 lines spacing except the text of footnotes and headings which shall be single spaced.
• The comprehensive arguments with appropriate citations shall be contained in the Pleadings. The teams shall follow the th 19thedition of the Bluebook mode of citation.

The written submission shall include the following:

• Cover Page
• Table of Contents
• Index of Authorities
• Statement of Jurisdiction
• Questions Presented
• Statement of Facts
• Summary of Pleadings
• Pleadings
• Prayer
• Appendix (Optional)
• Exhibits (Optional)

The Pleadings shall not exceed pages.

How to Register?

The Participating team shall duly fill the Registration Form (attached at the end of the post) Provided and send it along with the Registration fee of Rs.4,000/- (Rupees Four Thousand only), which is not refundable. However, where an application is not accepted, the Registration fee will be refunded.

The Registration shall be sent through Demand Draft drawn in favor of JOY UNIVERSITY or UPI Payment joyuniversity@tmb. Spot registration will not be entertained. However the dean school of law, Moot Court Committee shall have discretion to entertain late application. The first 20 teams duly registered will be considered.

Deadline

The last date for submitting the registration form with fee is 15.03.2024.

Awards

Trophies and cash prizes shall be awarded to the Winner >Rs. 25,000/- Runners Up Rs. ,15,000/- , Best Memorial Rs. ,10,000/- and two Best Speakers Rs.5,000/- each, one male and one female. All participants will be awarded Certificates of Participation and the winners will receive Certificates of Merit.
