The UPES School of Law combines a carefully crafted curriculum with interactive learning methods to prepare students who can contribute towards shaping the legal landscape.
Law is dynamic and constantly evolving with time. New developments in various industrial sectors demand new transformations in the field of law too. These transformations also present a scholar of law with an ample number of perspectives and opportunities in various budding areas of law.
Keeping this in mind, the Emerging Areas of Law Cluster of the UPES School of Law aims to conduct its First Panel Discussion on Hemp Cultivation.
The benefits of hemp are unknown to many. In 2016, Uttarakhand became the first Indian state to permit large-scale commercial cultivation of industrial hemp. The license was awarded to the Indian Industrial Hemp Association (IIHA) to plant cannabis on 1000 hectares of land.
In view of the commercial benefits of hemp cultivation and the need for its promotion and regulation, the School of Law, UPES is organizing a “Conference on the Legal Aspects of Hemp Cultivation in Asian Countries” on 1st March 2023 (Wednesday) in virtual mode.
Any interested student, researcher, academician, or policymaker from Indian institutions can submit their abstract for consideration.
Each applicant must submit a maximum 500-word abstract to either of the following email ids: anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac.in; shibam.talukdar@ddn.ac.in
