About TLJT
The Legal Journal on Technology (TLJT) is a student-run initiative founded by NLU students. It aims to foster dialogue and research at the intersection of law and technology by encouraging analytical, original, and impactful contributions on emerging legal and technological issues.
Submission Categories
- Blog Submissions: Short, analytical pieces (800–1,500 words) on contemporary issues in law and technology.
- Journal Submissions: Research-oriented manuscripts in the form of Articles, Essays, Case Notes/Comments, or Book Reviews (2,000–7,000 words).
All submissions undergo a structured review process to ensure academic integrity and originality.
Submission Guidelines
For Blog:
Authors are expected to adhere to the following submission guidelines:
- Any contemporary topics under the broad list shared above can be covered.
- Word Count: 800 to 1,500 words. This is flexible, based on the quality of the piece. Please include tables, charts, and relevant figures where appropriate.
- For references, please hyperlink all the sources rather than citing them. Open-access sources are recommended over those behind paywalls. Substantial footnoting is permitted, but it is to be used sparingly.
- All the sources in the footnotes must be properly cited strictly in accordance with the latest OSCOLA (4th edition) format. The formatting for the footnotes is:

Font size: 10 pts
Line Spacing: 1.0
- A blog post may be co-authored by a maximum of 2 authors.
- All works submitted to the TLJT Blog must be original and must not have been published elsewhere.
- Authors will receive an outcome of rejection, provisional acceptance, or acceptance within 14 days from submission.
- The title should be Bold, Size 14, and Centre Aligned
- Authors are requested to format the content as follows:
Font: Libre Baskerville
Font size: 12 pts.
Line spacing: 1.5
Margin: 1” from all sides
Alignment: Justified
- Please note that all submissions must adhere to a strict plagiarism limit of 33%, as any papers exceeding this threshold will be automatically rejected.
- For the purposes of the plagiarism check, Turnitin’s “small matches exclusion” setting will be applied at 14 words. This means that matches consisting of 14 words or fewer in sequence will not be considered in the final similarity report.
- Authors are, however, advised to ensure proper citation and originality in their work, as reliance on exclusions cannot be used to justify improper or excessive similarity.
- Editors’ decision shall be final and binding. They reserve the sole rights to the publication of the selected blogs, in addition to, inter alia, any edits/amendments/reproductions. The contributions presented to and accepted for publication and the copyrights therein shall be the intellectual property of TLJT.
For Journal:
- Any contemporary topics under the broad list shared above.
- The word count is 4,000-7,000 words.
- An abstract of no more than 250 words, with five keywords, must be submitted in the same document as the manuscript.
- Submission must be in English only.
- A manuscript may be co-authored by a maximum of 3 authors.
- All the references must be properly cited strictly in accordance with the latest OSCOLA (4th edition) format.
- Articles should contain content that is both original and unpublished. Plagiarized content is highly discouraged.
- Authors are requested to format the content as follows:
Font – Libre Baskerville
Font size – 12 pts.
Line spacing – 1.5
Margin – 1” from all sides
Alignment: Justified
The title should be Bold, Size 14, and Centre Aligned
Headings should be numbered in a Roman numbers format, Bold, Size 12, and centre-aligned
- Authors are requested to follow the guidelines mentioned below for the purpose of citations:

- There shall be a rigorous review process. Members of the Advisory Board will be closely involved in the review process.
