The UCL Journal of Law and Jurisprudence (UCLJLJ) is a law journal edited and published by graduate (Masters and PhD) students of UCL Laws.
The Journal publishes scholarly contributions from academics, researchers and practitioners, as well as showcasing outstanding research of post-graduate students at UCL.
It accepts submissions in all areas of law and jurisprudence, reflecting the diverse and innovative areas of research at UCL Laws, and its distinguished tradition of legal philosophy.
The UCL Journal of Law and Jurisprudence is happy to announce the opening of call for submissions!
From today until February 27th, 2026 (23:59 GMT), you will be invited to submit an article (between 8,000 and 12,000 words, inclusive of footnotes) or case commentary (between 2,000 and 4,000 words, inclusive of footnotes).
In addition, and to celebrate UCL’s bicentennial anniversary, the Editorial Board has decided to create a thematic issue entitled: “Retrospectic: Looking Back and Ahead“.
Before submitting an article for the Journal’s consideration, authors must ensure that their paper is referenced according to and complies with the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA).
All papers must be submitted in Microsoft Word format and should also contain an abstract of 150 words. Authors should also ensure that their papers are fit for publication at the time of submission.
More information about the Journal’s requisite standards for submissions can be found in its past issues: https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/laj/issues/.
Anonymised manuscripts must be uploaded via the submissions section on the Journal’s website (https://student-journals.ucl.ac.uk/laj/submissions/). There should be no references that could link the paper to the author or their affiliation.
Registration on the Journal’s website is necessary before authors can submit their anonymised papers. Only submissions via the Journal’s website will be considered; submissions via email will not be considered.
February 27th, 2026 (23:59 GMT).
