About the Organiser
Surendranath Law College, Kolkata is a premier law institute in India which is affiliated to the University of Calcutta and recognized by the Bar Council of India. It is one of the oldest law colleges in India. The ‘Rastraguru’ Suendranath Banerjea, the great patriot and educationalist founded this prestigious institution. In 1882, the Presidency School, which formed the nucleus of the present Institution, was handed over to Sir Surendranath Banerjea on 1st January 1884.
Submission Categories
SNLC Law Review (ISSN- 3048-7838) is accepting original and unpublished submissions from academicians, legal professionals, legal practitioners, research scholars and students. The submissions are accepted under the following categories:
- Article: The prescribed word limit is 4000-6000 words. These articles must analyse any contemporary topic relating to law. It should focus on to cover all the aspects of the particular topic.
- Case Comments: The prescribed word limit is 2000-3000 words. The comment must be an analysis of recent judgements of National and International judicial bodies, bringing out its relevance in light of the development of law, views expressed in the judgment and the opinion(s) of the author.
- Book Review: The prescribed word limit is 1000-2500 words. The review must contain a crisp account of books which were published in 2019 or later.
Note: The word limit is exclusive of footnotes and abstract.
Submission Guidelines
Authors must strictly adhere to the following guidelines, failing which the submission would
not be considered.
- Submissions are accepted only in the English language.
- All original submissions must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words and 4 – 6 key words in the beginning, highlighting the structure and the essence of the manuscript. The abstract is exclusive of the word limit of the manuscript.
- The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12 and in 1.5 line spacing. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10 and in single line spacing.
- The text must be justified throughout the document.
- Manuscripts should only use footnotes as a means of citation. Footnotes should conform to the ILI Style of Footnoting. This mode of citation must be strictly followed otherwise the paper shall not be considered for publication.
- The submission must not have any endnotes, bibliography or references. Authors are advised to use only footnotes.
- The manuscript or abstract shall not contain the name or affiliation of the author(s).
- The submissions shall strictly adhere to the word limit prescribed.
- Co-authorship is permissible up to a maximum of one co-author. Co-authorship is not allowed in case of Case Comment and Book Review.
- The submissions shall be made in MS Word (.doc/.docx) format only. Any submission in PDF format shall not be accepted.
- The name of the file must contain Name of the author(s).
- The submission made to SNLC Law Review (ISSN- 3048-7838) shall be on an exclusive basis and must not be concurrently under consideration by any other publication.
- All the submissions would go through plagiarism check. Plagiarism beyond the accepted threshold will lead to prima facie rejection.
- The SNLC Law Review follows a strict AI policy. Authors may not use any type of AI for the generation of any substantive content or citations.
- SNLC Law Review does not charge any submission or publication fees.
- The Author(s) must send a duly signed and dated scanned copy of Certificate of Declaration of Originality (Annexure 1, attached below), along with the submission.
- All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to evaluate their quality, relevance, and contribution to legal scholarship.
- Mere submission of a contribution shall not confer any claim for publication. The Editorial Board reserves all rights to take decision to publish the contribution or not. The Board’s decision as regards the interpretation of guidelines or any other matter related to the publication shall be final. SNLC Law Review (ISSN- 3048-7838) retains complete discretion over acceptance/rejection of manuscripts.
How to Submit?
All submissions are required to be addressed to the Editor, SNLC Law Review (ISSN- 3048-7838) and emailed to journal@snlawcollege.ac.in on or before 31st March, 2026.
Deadline
All submissions (soft copy) must reach us no later than 31st March, 2026.
