Supreme Court today has agreed to hear on Tuesday a petition by a ruling BJP leader requesting a CBI investigation into the violent clash which took place in Mathura UP.

The clash ted to death of as many as 29 people. The death toll includes two senior police officers, apart from huge damage to public property.

The Vacation bench of Apex court comprising of Justices Pinaki Chandra Ghose and Amitava Roy, today agreed to hear the petition on Tuesday upon a urgent mention of the matter by counsel Kamini Jaiswal.

The incident of violence had taken place on June 2 in Mathura City in State of Uttar Pradesh.  Police was attempting to clear a massive  Land encroachment at Jawahar Bagh public park by the sect followers of Swadhin Bharat Vidhik Satyagrah. The drive was carried out in compliance of directions of the Allahabad High Court.

Those dead included a Superintendent of Police (SP) and a Station House Officer (SHO). Also 23 police officials were injured.

Ashwini Upadhyay, petitioner is a member of the Delhi unit of the BJP, stated that CBI enquiry was necessary to find out the real root cause of the Mathura clash and ascertain any possible "executive, legislatures and the extremist group nexus".

The petition contends  that the central government was willing to order for a CBI inquiry but Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party government is not recommending CBI enquiry.

The religious Sect was Swadhin Bharat Vidhik Satyagrah which was formed by followers of  Jai Gurudev, another Religous Leader who had died in 2012.

Appearing for Petitioner, counsel Kamini Jaiswal apprised the court that there reports of destruction of evidence, besides huge loss of human lives, burning of 200 vehicles and a large number of gas cylinders during the violence and the Sect was in connivance with some powerful people in the UP government.
