Bira 91 is an Indian craft beer brand manufactured by B9 Beverages Pvt. Ltd., launched in 2015. The company’s first brewery unit was located in the Flanders region of Belgium where a craft distillery was used to contract to manufacture the beer with ingredients from France, Belgium, the Himalayas, and Bavarian Farms, and the beer was imported to India.

About the Opportunity

• The individual in this role is responsible to ensure effective management of all legal tasks from a business perspective.
• The role also aims at ensuring the speed of business and providing efficient legal advice, in compliance with laws and company policies.
• The role aims at ensuring legal advisory, regulatory, and compliance management.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating business agreements. Working with internal stakeholders to finalize and execute the same.
• Reviewing litigation documents and appearances before courts along with external counsels.
• Preparing relevant documents for statutory authorities relating to the industry and appearing in meetings before such authorities.
• Assisting the Legal team on regulatory matters relating to the industry, including but not limited to FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Excise Laws, etc.
• Assisting in the management of compliance obligations for the company internally and externally
• Research International Laws and suggest a relevant route to the market and related avenues
• Assisting the Legal Manager on matters relating to statutory licenses, internal policies, etc.
• Advising the Company on Indian law matters in relation to day-to-day affairs of the Company, including but not limited to the Companies Act, 2013, Contract Act, 1872, Labor Laws, Civil laws, penalties, etc.
• Work closely and provide assistance to the General Counsel and Company Secretary on any new projects assigned to the team.

Eligibility

• Full-time LLB from a reputed law college.
• Post-qualified experience of 4-6 years.
• Industry experience is preferred.
• Open to travel as and when required.
• The entrepreneurial approach of creating innovative solutions to support dynamism in the business environment.
• Working knowledge of Indian Laws like State Excise, FSSAI, Company Act, Intellectual Property, etc.; demonstrating quick thinking and excellent communication skills; being detail-oriented; being flexible and creative and finally maintaining emotional intelligence, judgment, calculative risk assessment and balanced perspective with regard to business and legal issues.
