About the Institution

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College, Centre for Post-Graduate Studies and Research in Law, Mangaluru (SDMLC) is a premier legal institution in Karnataka, affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and recognised by the Bar Council of India. Established in 1974 under the presidentship of Padmavibhushan Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, the college has been at the forefront of legal education.

About LEX PLUS

LEX PLUS Student Law Review is the flagship peer-reviewed student journal of SDMLC, dedicated to nurturing research acumen and academic writing skills among law students. Having successfully published five volumes, the journal now invites contributions for Volume VI (2025). All manuscripts undergo editorial screening followed by blind peer review prior to publication.

Call for Papers: “Recasting Criminal Justice”

This call encourages law students nationwide to engage with contemporary criminal law reforms, especially the transition to India’s new criminal codes.

Eligibility:

  • Open to all law students (UG & PG) enrolled in recognised law schools/universities in India
  • Co-authorship allowed (maximum 2 authors per submission)

  • Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Future of Criminal Procedure

Formatting Guidelines

  • Language: English
  • Word Limit: 2,000–3,000 words (excluding footnotes)
  • Abstract: Up to 250 words
  • Font: Times New Roman (Text 12 | Footnotes 10)
  • Spacing: 1.5 (Text) | 1 (Footnotes)
  • Citation: Indian Law Institute (ILI) Style
  • Headings: Numbered, bold/italicised as per levels

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscripts must be in MS Word format only (PDFs not accepted)
  • Include a cover letter with: Author’s Name, College, Class, Email ID, and Phone Number
  • All submissions undergo editorial screening and blind peer review
  • Authors must ensure originality, plagiarism compliance, and necessary permissions
