About the Journal

Chandigarh Law Review is a distinguished biannual, online, peer-reviewed law journal published by Chandigarh Law College, CGC University, Mohali. Conceived as an academic initiative to bridge the gap between legal theory and real-world legal challenges, the journal offers a dedicated space for high-calibre legal research and informed academic discourse across disciplines.

The journal stands out for its commitment to publishing original, analytical, and policy-relevant scholarship that reflects the diverse and evolving concerns of law in both domestic and international contexts. By embracing a wide thematic range, from doctrinal analysis to empirical legal studies and interdisciplinary critique, Chandigarh Law Review caters to a broad academic and professional audience.

With an emphasis on accessibility and academic rigour, the journal follows a double-blind peer- review process to maintain quality and integrity in its selection. The editorial structure includes a well-qualified advisory board and an editorial committee drawn from reputed institutions and legal practice, ensuring that each issue upholds high editorial and ethical standards.

Published exclusively in digital format, the journal facilitates timely publication, greater outreach, and wider readership, especially among students, researchers, and professionals engaging with the legal landscape in India and abroad. It invites contributions from established scholars, early-career academics, legal professionals, and postgraduate researchers, reinforcing its inclusive and forward-looking editorial vision.

Eligibility

Submissions are welcome from:

  • Faculty Members and Legal Academicians
  • Legal Professionals and Practitioners
  • Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Scholars

Note: Only one co-author is permitted per submission.

Submission Guidelines

The current issue of Chandigarh Law Review invites scholarly submissions that critically engage with significant legal developments across global and national legal systems. Contributions may be theoretical, doctrinal, comparative, or interdisciplinary.

Each manuscript must be accompanied by the following:

  • A covering letter containing:
    • Full name(s) of the author(s)
    • Designation and institutional affiliation
    • Title of the manuscript
    • Contact details (email ID, phone number, and postal address)
  • A declaration of originality confirming that the work is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • A similarity report generated using any recognised plagiarism detection software (Turnitin/ Urkund/ iThenticate/ Drillbit etc.), showing acceptable similarity levels.
  • An abstract of 300 words with 4-5 keywords.

Formatting Guidelines

All submissions will be subject to a double-blind peer review process. The identity of authors and
reviewers will remain confidential to ensure impartial assessment.

  • File format: MS Word (.doc/.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12-point
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 1.5 inches (left); 1 inch (top, right, bottom)
  • Citation Style: JILI Footnoting Style (refer: https://www.ili.ac.in/cstyle.pdf)
  • Word Limits
    • Long Articles: Above 15,000 words
    • Short Articles: 8,000–9,000 words
    • Book Reviews: Up to 3,000 words
    • Case Comment: 2,000–4,000 words
      All word counts are inclusive of footnotes.
