About the Magazine Committee

Established in the year 2019, the Magazine Committee aims to chronicle and showcase the diverse activities and achievements within the institution as well as of the various competitions organised by the Committee.

The Committee publishes it’s annual magazine ‘The Muses’, written and edited by the students of the Department of Law, University of Calcutta, which chronicles all activities under the aegis of the institution and paints a picture of the yearly endeavours of this institute and its students.

This publication provides a platform for the students to exhibit their creative, scientific, literary, academic prowess. In this edition, the committee is accepting submissions from all.

Iran from the Cradle of Civilization to the Crisis of Today 

Description

From the ancient foundations of Elam to the power of the Persian empires, Iran has long stood as a civilization shaped by resilience, identity, and struggle.

Today, that same nation faces a difficult crossroads caught between its deep historical legacy and the pressures of political unrest, international isolation, and regional conflict. This theme explores Iran not only as a land of magnificent memory, but as a nation whose past and present continue to collide in powerful ways.

Eligibility

Any undergraduate student from any recognised college.

Submission details

• Languages accepted: English, বাংলা (Bengali), हिंदी (Hindi).
• Font: Times New Roman (mandatory).
• File format: Word document (.doc / .docx).
• Word limit: 450–500 words (analytical essays, critical reflections, or reportage).
• One author = One submission.
• Use of AI: Any article found to exceed 10% AI-generated content will be DISQUALIFIED.
• Hyperlinks should be used when necessary
• RENAME your files with your respective names.

• Email body: Your Instagram and LinkedIn handles
• Add your College/University ID card for Verification ( pdf. or doc. Format )
