Google and YouTube are being approached by Mumbai police asking them to block comedian Tanmay Bhat's latest Video - not only because it's mindless, numbing, dull and not at all funny, but also offensive.
In the Video Bhat himself appears as singer Lata Mangeshkar and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar both of whom are Bharat Ratna recipent, India's highest civil award. They are shown talking to each other badmouthing and hurling insults at each other.
Lata is shown saying to Sachin that he is a lesser batsman than Virat Kohli and with Sachin telling Lata that she is 5000 years old.
The obnoxious video titled as 'Sachin vs Lata Civil War' was posted by Bhat on Social Media on May 26. Author is part of a comedians' group called All India Bakchod (AIB).
The BJP, the Shiv Sena, the MNS Chitrapat Sena, and several celebrities have strongly criticized the video.
Special Branch of Mumbai Police is also looking into police complaints filed filed against Comedian Bhat by the BJP in Maharashtra and by Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis is being asked to take strict action against the Comedian.
YP Singh, former IPS officer demanded custodial interrogation of Bhat for making cheap fun of two of the Maharashtra's best known living legends for what he termed it a cognizable offence. MNS Chitrapat Sena president has issued a statement that his party members will give Comedian Bhat a good thrashing.
"Whenever we see Tanmay, we will definitely beat him up. Now on we will not let him do any shows," the MNS leader said.
