The President of India has assented to the appointment of two lawyers as Permanent Judges of the Patna High Court.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice has notified that “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Khatim Reza and (ii) Dr. Anshuman, to be Judges of the Patna High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”

Jharkhand High Court has sanctioned strength of 53 judges, having vacancy of 26 judges. With these appointments the vacancies reduces to 24.
