The Madhya Pradesh High Court has disposed of total of 51,565 cases from January 2021 to 20th July 2021.

The MP High Court has issued press note which notifies that “from January 2021 to 20th July 2021 all the Hon'ble Judges of the High Court of M.P. heard the cases through virtual and/or physical mode. During this period total 51,565 cases were disposed of in the High Court of M.P., out of which 23,172 cases were disposed of at Principal Seat Jabalpur, 13,060 cases were disposed of at Indore Bench and 15,333 cases were disposed of at Gwalior Bench”.

The Press note further highlighted that before the beginning of summer vacations, it was observed that the number of bail applications pending in Principal Seat Jabalpur has increased, hence, the Judges sitting at Gwalior Bench were assigned hearing of such matters of Principal Seat Jabalpur also, through Video Conferencing, to reduce the pendency. Similarly, Division Benches functioning at Principal Seat Jabalpur, Bench at Indore and Bench at Gwalior were also assigned hearing of those matters, through Video Conferencing, which were filed at other Benches.

The High Court recently stated that it was the "first in the country" to extend video conferencing facility to all District Hospitals, Juvenile justice Boards, Railway Courts and Family Courts.
