Justice TS Sivagnanam on Thursday took oath as new Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court. The oath was administered by Governor CV Ananda Bose. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was also present at the swearing-in ceremony.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari also participated in the programme. Suvendu was seen sitting next to minister Firhaad Hakim and other TMC leaders.
The central government had notified the appointment of Justice TS Sivagnanam, the senior most judge of the Calcutta High Court, as the Chief Justice of the High Court.
Until recently, he was serving as the acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.
