The Allahabad High Court has directed to Principal Secretary of the Health Department of the State of U.P. to present the information regarding proper vaccination programme to prevent Covid-19 infection in the State.
The Division Bench comprised of Justices Siddhartha Varma and Justice Ajit Kumar while hearing the bunch of petitions relating to Covid-19 issues has observed that,
"We only hope and trust that the guidelines placed before us, are adhered to quite religiously and that people coming to the Magh Mela also cooperate with the State Authority and district
administration.”
On the last hearing, the court had requested to the learned Standing Counsel for the Central Government to come up with the vaccination programme, But no vaccination programme has been brought before the court.
The Court has noted that the Principal Secretary of the Health Department of the State of U.P. has provided a certain time table for the vaccination. However, the time table only indicates that the vaccination would commence from 16th January 2021 and when first phase would be over and the second phase would begin, is not at all clear from the instructions.
Considering the above facts, the court has directed to health department of State to provide detailed instructions regarding vaccination program by January 22.
The present matter has been listed on 22nd January for next hearing.
