In a powerful display of unity and compassion, the Supreme Court has unequivocally condemned the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, calling it a “diabolical act of mindless violence” that has “shaken the conscience of the nation.”

Through a resolution unanimously adopted by the Full Court, the Apex Court mourned the innocent lives lost and expressed deep anguish over the brutal assault. “The attack on tourists, who were merely soaking in the natural splendour of Kashmir, the Crown Jewel of India, is not just a crime against individuals, but an assault on the very values of humanity and the sanctity of life,” the Court stated.

The Supreme Court paid solemn tribute to those killed, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, and wished a swift recovery for the injured. “May the departed souls rest in peace,” the resolution noted, adding that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the victims during this hour of profound grief.

As a mark of respect and solidarity, Honourable Judges, advocates, court staff, and members of the Registry observed a two-minute silence within the Court premises, echoing the judiciary’s collective commitment to upholding peace, justice, and the dignity of life.
