The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of 3 Chief Justices of High Courts for appointment as Judges of the Supreme Court of India.
The names of the Judges are as follows:
- Mr Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Chief Justice, High Court of Delhi
- Mr Justice Augustine George Masih, Chief Justice, High Court of Rajasthan
- Mr Justice Sandeep Mehta, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court
The Supreme Court of India has a sanctioned strength of thirty four Judges and is presently functioning with thirty-one Judges. The Supreme Court has a huge backlog of cases.
