The President of India has assented to the appointment of Justice D. Krishnakumar as Chief Justice of Madras High Court.

The notification issued by the Law Ministry notifies that “In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice D. Krishnakumar, Judge of the Madras High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court consequent upon elevation of Shri Justice R. Mahadevan, Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court as Judge of the Supreme Court of India.”
