The Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jaipur has today sentenced Shri Nimit Choudhary, the then Sorting Assistant, Railway Mail Services, Postal Department, Ajmer to 05 Years’ Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 20,50,000/- in a corruption case related to misappropriation of government money to the tune of Rs. 43.53 lacs (approx).
A case was registered by CBI on 09.01.2014 against two accused persons namely Ms. Mohini Gupta, the then Manager and Shri Nimit Choudhary, the then Sorting Assistant both from RMS, Postal Department, Ajmer. During investigation accused Ms. Mohini Gupta, Manager died. After successful investigation, a chargesheet was filed on 28.01.2015, followed by a supplementary chargesheet on 09.07.2015.
The Trial Court found the accused Shri Nimit Choudhary guilty and accordingly sentenced him. CBI cited 60 witnesses and 973 documents/evidences in support of the charges which stood test of trial in the Court.
