Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested three accused including Sub Divisional Inspector (SDI), an Overseer and Postal Assistant of Head Post Office, Azamgarh (UP) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 7500/- from the complainant.

CBI registered a case on 04.02.2025 against two accused  including said Sub Divisional Inspector (SDI) and Overseer of Head Post Office, Azamgarh on allegations that accused  demanded undue advantage of Rs. 25,000/-  from complainant, who had been selected as Assistant Branch Post Master, Gramin Dak Seva at Rasoolpur Nandlal Branch, Indian Post, Azamgarh. The accused demanded bribe for allowing complainant to join/take charge of the said post.

 After negotiation accused agreed to reduce bribe amount to Rs.10,000/-. 

CBI laid a trap and caught a Postal Assistant red handed while demanding and accepting undue advantage of Rs.7500/- from the complainant in connivance with accused SDI and Overseer on 04.02.2025.

All the aforesaid three accused were arrested and will be produced before the Court of Learned Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court No.2, Lucknow.

Investigation is continuing.
