The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested three accused including a Postal Assistant, Accounts Office, Nanpara, Bahraich (U.P.), and a Chief Depot Material Superintendent (CDMS), Alambagh Store Depot, Northern Railway, Lucknow & an ASI, RPF, Alambagh, Northern Railway, Lucknow in two separate cases of bribery.
In the first case, CBI registered a case on 12.06.2024 against accused Postal Assistant, Accounts Office, Nanpara, Bahraich (U.P.) on the allegations that accused demanded undue advantage of Rs. 2,00,000/- and agreed to accept advance of Rs.20,000/- as part payment from the complainant for settling a departmental case against the complainant by using influence with un-named senior officers of the department.
CBI laid a trap and caught said accused red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000/- as part payment of bribe from the complainant. The said accused has been arrested and will be produced before the Court of Learned Special Judge, CBI Court No.2, Lucknow on 14.06.2024.
Searches were conducted at the residence of accused at Bahraich (U.P.).
The second case was registered on 13.06.2024 by CBI against accused ASI, RPF, Alambagh, Northern Railway, Lucknow and DMS, Alambagh Depot, Northern Railway, Lucknow (who later turned out to be CDMS) on allegations that accused had demanded undue advantage of Rs.12,800/- & Rs.8,200/- respectively from cousin (brother) of the complainant (looking after affairs of complainant’s firm), for allowing cutting and lifting of Railway Scraps purchased by them, from the Railway Depot.
CBI laid a trap and caught both accused ASI, RPF, and CDMS, Northern Railway, red-handed while demanding and accepting undue advantage of Rs.9,000/- and Rs.8,200/- respectively from the complainant. Both said accused persons have been arrested and will be produced before the Court of Learned Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court (West), Lucknow on 14.06.2024.
Searches were conducted at the residence of both the accused persons at Lucknow.
Investigation is continuing.
