The High Court of Calcutta has organized National Lok Adalat in the High Court premises Saturday, the 15th January, 2022, in which cases shall be disposed of on the basis of compromises.
The Notification issued by the High Court has notified that “This is to inform all concerned that a Lok Adalat is scheduled to be organized through virtual mode by the Calcutta High Court Legal Services Committee on Saturday, the 15th January, 2022 at 10-30 a.m. in the High Court premises to facilitate settlement of cases pending in the High Court, Calcutta by and amongst the parties thereto through ADR mechanism.”
About Lok Adalat
Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute redressal mechanisms, it is a forum where disputes/cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled/ compromised amicably. Lok Adalats have been given statutory status under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
