June 28, 2019:

A 28-year-old man who holds an MBA degree lost Rs 40,000 from his credit card after he paid Rs 10 twice as registration fee on a job portal's registration form.

This happened on June 13 when Vijay Parihar (28) got a call from a tele-caller who claimed he was from an HR firm looking for marketing professionals with an MBA. The tele-caller forwarded a link to Parihar to fill in his professional details.

Parihar lodged a police complaint on Tuesday as he got no feedback from the bank about his complaint regarding the loss of money. "We have sought details from the bank where the transaction were done and to which account the money has been deposited in. It will help get hold of the one who withdraws the money," said an officer from Borivli police station.

Parihar confirmed that the fraud had taken place, but refused to say any more. In his complaint, Parihar has said, "The caller kept me engaged in conversation about my qualification and work experience before sending me the link."
