The Bar Council of Delhi has taken serious note of the widespread defacement caused by candidates contesting elections for various Bar Association posts in District Courts and the Delhi High Court. The council observed that campaign materials, including posters and banners, have been unlawfully placed within court premises and on public and private properties across Delhi, including Metro pillars, without requisite permissions.

Bar Council of Delhi stated it constitutes offences under The Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2009 and violates Section 35 of the Advocates Act, along with the Bar Council of Delhi Rules. Contesting advocates have been directed to remove all such materials within 10 hours or before polling begins. Failure to comply will invite immediate disciplinary action, including the suspension of their license to practice. The resolution has been widely circulated to ensure strict adherence.
