The Allahabad High Court witnessed the induction of 24 new judges, including 10 advocates and 14 judicial officers, raising its current strength to 110 judges, inclusive of the Chief Justice. The High Court’s sanctioned strength stands at 160 judges.
The appointments were officially notified by the Central Government on Friday, 26th September 2025. The newly appointed advocates and judicial officers took their oaths on Saturday, further bolstering the judicial capacity of India’s largest High Court.

Advocates: Vivek Saran, Vivek Kumar Singh, Garima Prashad, Sudhanshu Chauhan, Abdhesh Kumar Chaudhary, Swarupama Chaturvedi, Siddharth Nandan, Kunal Ravi Singh, Indrajeet Shukla, Satya Veer Singh.

Judicial Officers: Dr. Ajay Kumar-II, Chawan Prakash, Divesh Chandra Samant, Prashant Mishra-I, Tarun Saxena, Rajeev Bharti, Padam Narain Mishra, Lakshmi Kant Shukla, Jai Prakash Tiwari, Devendra Singh-I, Sanjiv Kumar, Vani Ranjan Agrawal, Achal Sachdev, Babita Rani.
Earlier, on 2nd September 2025, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the appointment of 12 advocates and 14 judicial officers to the Allahabad High Court. However, the Central Government withheld the names of two advocates at that time.
The recent appointments mark a significant step in strengthening the judicial infrastructure of the High Court, aimed at improving efficiency, expediting case disposal, and reducing the mounting backlog of cases in Uttar Pradesh.
