Mr. Rajeev Singh Bisht, Additional CSC, for the State. (2) According to petitioners, certain stone crushers are running within 10 kilometres from the periphery of Assan Wetland Conservation Reserve area, which is notified under Section 27 of Wildlife Protection Act. Petitioner relies upon judgment rendered by coordinate Bench in WPPIL No. 66 of 2014 and WPPIL No. 41 of 2015. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that as per the judgment rendered in the aforesaid PIL, mining activities are not permissible within 10 kilometres from the area notified as Wetland Conservation Reserve. (3) Learned State Counsel sought time to get instruction. On his request, list on 12th of February, 2026.

(4) In the meantime, District Magistrate, Dehradun shall have the distance of all the stone crushers, impleaded as respondent no. 9 to 33, measured from the periphery of Assan Wetland Conservation Reserve and apprise the Court about such stone crushers which are within ten kilometres from the periphery of the said Reserve. (5) Issue notice to all the private respondents returnable within four weeks. Steps be taken by 14.1.2026.
