The present Criminal Appeal has been filed against the judgment dated 16.07.2022/18.07.2022, passed by the F.T.S.C./ Additional Sessions Judge, Roorkee, District Haridwar, in Sessions Trial No.125 of 2021, "State of Uttarakhand vs. Vikas", whereby the appellant - Vikas has been convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of ten years along with a fine of Rs.30,000/- for the offence punishable under Section 376 of IPC, and, he has been further convicted and sentenced to undergo imprisonment for a period of two years along with a fine of Rs.5,000/- for the offence punishable under Section 506 of IPC. Both the sentences are directed to run concurrently.
Heard Ms. Pushpa Joshi, learned Senior Advocate assisted by Ms. Chetna Latwal, learned counsel for the appellant and Mr. T.C. Agarwal, learned Deputy Advocate General for the State.
The Criminal Appeal is admitted. The learned counsel for the State requested two weeks' time to file objection(s) to the bail application.
