Judgment / Order
08/01/2021
(2 of 2) [SAW-937/2020]
Vide this order above mentioned two appeals would be
disposed of.
Learned counsel for the appellants has submitted that the
appellants were permitted to appear in the written examination
and had paid the necessary fee. The expectations of the
appellants had been raised by the respondent, but they had been
wrongly declared ineligible by the respondent.
Appellants had applied for recruitment to the post of School
Lecturer in terms of advertisement dated 13.04.2018. The last
date for submission of application form was 12.10.2019.
Candidates were permitted to apply, who were awaiting their
result of M.A. final year examination. As per the advertisement,
the eligibility of the candidates was to be considered on the date
the examination had been conducted. The appellants were not
eligible on the date they took the written examination. Admittedly,
written examination was conducted from 03.01.2020 to
13.01.2020, whereas, appellants cleared M.A. final examination in
October/November 2020. Thus, appellants did not have the
necessary qualification on the date they took the written
examination in pursuance to the advertisement dated 13.04.2018.
In these circumstances, learned Single Judge rightly
dismissed the writ petitions filed by the appellants as they were
not having the necessary eligibility on the date they took the
written examination in pursuance to the advertisement-in-
question.
Dismissed.
