1. The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of

the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to issue

him passport.

2. Mr. B.S.Jaswal inter alia contends that petitioner applied for

issuance of passport on 16.08.2023. An FIR No. 66 dated 20.04.2021, under

Sections 302, 341, 148, 149 of IPC came to be registered against few

persons at Police Station, Kathu Nangal, District Amritsar wherein petitioner

was not named. The petitioner, on the basis of supplementary statement,

was named in the FIR. The petitioner applied and got concession of

anticipatory bail. Till date, police has not presented its report under Section

173 Cr.P.C. The case of the petitioner is squarely covered by judgment of

3. Ms.Amrita Singh, Central Government Counsel for Union of

India submits that petitioner was issued show cause notice and he is neither

responding to said show cause notice nor appearing before the authorities.

4. Without commenting upon merits of the case, the petition stands

disposed of with a direction to petitioner to appear before passport authority

on 29.01.2024 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport

authority shall pass order, in accordance with law, within six weeks from

29.01.2024.
