1. This common order shall dispose of the above petitions as they

involve the same issue.

2. The prayer made by the petitioners is for quashing the impugned

orders, whereby pursuant to the offending portion of letter dated 28.09.2022, they

are being abruptly and prematurely relieved from their services.

3. Learned counsel submits that the petitioners were serving on private/

Govt. aided teaching posts in different colleges and were entitled to continue in

service till the age of 60 years, however, by misinterpreting the UGC

recommendations implemented w.e.f. 01.01.2016 in the State of Punjab vide

notification dated 28.09.2022, the same was reduced to 58 years, with regard to

which, he on instructions from them prays that liberty be granted to file

representations, to bring to the notice of the authorities all the facts supporting the

same with documents and relying on D.A.V. College and Management Society

and Others vs. The Punjab University, Chandigarh and another, CWP-3703-

1983, decided on 04.02.1986, which may be directed to be decided in a time

bound manner by granting them an opportunity of hearing.

4. Learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made.

5. In view of the aforesaid and without commenting upon the merits of

the case, the petitions are hereby disposed of with a direction that in case the

petitioners submit representations within a period of 4 weeks, substantiating their

claim with documents, the same be considered and decided by the respondents

taking into account the judgment relied upon and pleas raised, within a period of

six months and if found entitled, necessary benefit be granted to forthwith.

However, in the eventuality of the relief being denied, a speaking order be passed,

after associating them therewith.

6. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.

7. A photocopy of this order be placed on the files of the connected cases.
