                                                        ORDER

The petitioner challenges the proceedings of the Senior Divisional

Commercial Manager, Southern Railway, rejecting his request for renewal

of the license granted to his father subsequently, transferred to his name for

running the Handloom Stall in the Coimbatore junction.

2.Rejection of renewal has been sought to be justified on the

ground that a policy decision has been taken by the railways to decongest

the platforms to enable free movement of passengers. The question of

renewal of such licenses by the railways is covered by the decision of the

Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in The Senior Divisional

Commercial Manager Vs. M.Mohamed Akbar in W.A(MD).No.1566 of

2018 wherein, the Hon'ble Division Bench has held that the licencees have

no vested right to seek renewal of licenses. The Catering Policy, 2017 and

the Commercial Circular No.20 of 2017 were also taken note of wherein,

the Railways decided to discontinue the practice of renewal of licenses

granted to various traders.

3.In view of the said judgment, I do not think, the claim of the

petitioner could be sustained. This Writ Petition therefore, fails and it is

accordingly, dismisssed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous

petition is closed.
