24.06.2022, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING:

                          JUDGMENT

The petitioner was a student of the 4 th respondent

school. In Ext.P2 Secondary School Examination

Certificate and mark statement, the date of birth of the

petitioner is shown as 25.05.1994. According to the

petitioner, his actual date of birth is 21.12.1993 as shown

in Ext.P1 birth certificate. Ext.P4 is the representation filed

by the petitioner before the 5th respondent, the Principal of

the School, for correction of date of birth in the Secondary

School Examination Certificate and mark statement. The

prayer of the petitioner is for a direction to the 2 nd

respondent to consider Ext.P4 application for correction of

date of birth, expeditiously, as the petitioner wants to go

abroad to pursue his studies.

2. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and

the learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 to 3. In the

nature of the direction I propose to pass, notice to

respondents 4 and 5 is dispensed with.

3. In the facts and circumstances of the case, there

will be a direction to the 5th respondent to forward Ext.P4

application of the petitioner for correction of date of birth

to the 2nd respondent within one week from the date of

receipt of a copy of this judgment. On receipt of the same,

the 2nd respondent shall consider the said application, in

accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders, at any

rate, within a period of six weeks.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
